Townlec Auto Electrical
Heavy industry & export

Stuart. Heavy gear, heavy hours.

Stuart sits inside the Townsville State Development Area, on the transport and export corridor south of the city. The work here is heavier than anywhere else in our patch — plant, mining support gear, transport equipment and the machinery that keeps the export chain moving.

Getting to you

On-site work can be scheduled around your yard

Why Stuart is different

The work round here.

Plant that cannot come to us

Loaders, excavators, generators, mine support equipment. If it does not drive to a workshop we come to it — diagnostics, charging systems, isolators and lighting done in the yard.

On-board weighing and compliance

LMI scale systems for trucks, loaders and cranes — supply, install, calibration and service. Overloaded gear costs more in lost contracts and insurance grief than it ever does in fines.

Built for the wet and the dust

Sealed connectors, properly rated cable, protected runs. Gear working out of Stuart gets hammered by wet season and haul road dust, and cheap terminations do not survive either.

Worth batching

A call-out to a yard is the same trip whether we look at one machine or six. If you have a list, give us the list — it is far better value than calling us back three times.

What we get called for

Common jobs in Stuart.

  • Diagnostics on plant that cannot leave the yard
  • Isolators, jump points and emergency stop circuits
  • LMI scale install and calibration on loaders and trucks
  • Work lighting and beacons rated for dust and vibration
  • Charging system faults on machinery doing short cycles
  • Loom repair where heat and vibration have taken their toll
Worth knowing

On-site or in the workshop?

For fleets and plant, a visit usually makes sense — several vehicles in one go, or one machine that cannot leave the yard. For a single small job it is generally quicker to bring it in. Either way it is worth batching non-urgent work into one booking rather than calling us out repeatedly, and we will tell you which suits when you ring.

On the ground

Stuart in our words.

Stuart is the end of our patch where the machinery gets serious. It is also where a bad electrical repair costs the most, because a machine down in an export chain holds up more than itself. Heavy machinery batteries and auto electrical diagnostics are most of it, and we would rather spend the time diagnosing properly than guess and be back next week.

FAQ

Stuart questions.

Do you work on machinery that cannot be moved?+
Yes — that is most of what we do in Stuart. Excavators, loaders, generators and static plant all get diagnosed and repaired where they sit.
Can you supply compliance and safety lighting?+
Yes. Beacons, work lights, reverse alarms and isolation systems, specified to suit the site rather than whatever fits. Tell us the site requirements and we will spec to them.
Why does gear out here fail electrically more often?+
Heat, vibration and dust. Terminations that would last years in a car shake loose or corrode on plant, which is why we use sealed connectors and properly supported runs rather than the cheapest termination that fits.
